Our Story
Explora was founded with the belief that growing businesses and the impact they have on employees, customers and broader society is the ultimate adventure. We are not a private equity firm — we are owners and explorers — and we invest all of our time, capital and energy into owning and operating great businesses.
In 2020, Cyrus Symoom and Jake Dancyger completed their acquisition of Clariti, a software company providing innovative permitting and licensing solutions for state and local governments. Under their leadership, Clariti was named 1 of the 100 most influential companies by Government Technology Magazine and has grown from 20 to over 100 employees.
In 2023, Graeme Buchan completed Explora’s investment in Integrity Advocate, a technology company providing identity verification, participation monitoring and exam proctoring solutions for Certification Organizations, Corporate Training, Higher Education and K-12 clients.
In 2024, Paige joined as Explora’s fourth Partner and is currently leading the search for a great business to acquire and grow over the long term.

• Annual recurring revenue (ARR) above $2M or profits (EBITDA) greater than $1M
• Low recurring maintenance requirements

• Differentiated product or service offering
• Potential growth avenues (e.g., product extension, geographic expansion, etc.)
Industry Profile
• Stable or growing market
• Minimal relation to commodities, real-estate, and regulatory factors
Owner Profile
• Seeking a full or majority sale of business (80%+)
• Looking to take a less active day-to-day role
• Wanting to ensure continuity for the business
